The creation of a Scientific Committee for the evaluation of research projects and allocation of the funds raised funds is the key to pillar over which this initiative may become sustainable and solvent.

This Scientific Committee is composed of on the one hand permanent members and on the other hand members selected on an annual basis based upon the supported cause. The role of this committee is to establish the bases for the presentation of the projects; the reception of the projects; the valuation of the projects and the final allocation of funds. Moreover, they will put forward the annual theme to the Board. The specific members will be elected every year, based on the annual theme.

Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the “Universitat de València”. Board member of the European office of the World Health Organisation (WHO-Euro, with headquarters in Copenhagen) and of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

Mr. José Manuel García Verdugo
Pioneer in the discovery of mother cells in mammals, including the human species and that are responsible of adult neurogenesis, in the identification of factors to modulate the activity of these mother cells, specially demyelization diseases.

Mrs. Pilar Viedma Gil de Vergara
Graduate in Pharmacy by the “Universidad de Valencia” and Doctor in Medicine by the “Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria”. Civil servant of the “Generalitat Valenciana” and currently Managing Director of “Ordenación, Evaluación e Investigación Sanitaria”.

Mr. Ignacio Riesgo
Doctor in Medicine. Managing Director in large public hospitals in Spain during the past 12 years. Member during the past 10 years of the Hospital Committee of the European Union (1986-1996). Since 1995 he has been dedicated to health consultancy services and is currently the Director of the Health consultancy services practice in PricewaterhouseCoopers in Spain.
